Vera M. Britton, 81, of Macon passed away Tuesday July 13, 2010 at the Eastern Star Home in Macon.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday July 15, 2010 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home in Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family via email at www.dawson-wikoff.com
Mrs. Britton was born on June 12, 1929 on the farm in Macon; she was the daughter of Othel and Bessie Coffeen Jacobs. She married John Roger Britton on August 6, 1948 and he preceded her in death on December 3, 1989. Vera retired as Secretary of the Macon School District. She was a member of Woodland Chapel Presbyterian Church.
Vera is survived by her three sons: David Britton and wife Kathy of Rochester, IL., Brian Britton and wife Kathy of Macon, IL., and Scott Britton of Glenview, IL.; sister: Doris June Tomlinson of Macon, IL.; grandchildren: Katie, Ellie and Jake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother Edward Jacobs
